hey, this journal is basically to tell you, the currently non-existent readers of a book(s) that hasn't been written yet, who we are and what we're going to do.

we, the messas... TBD, intend to write the greatest work of fiction since the bible; a title that has hitherto been held by The Lord of the Rings. now that we've established good relations with those who are religious (and really, there's nothing wrong with that) i'll tell you a little more about us and the project.

The Sollus Project (working title) has undergone many changes since it's first conception, and the idea now stands thus. rather than working on one book, telling the story of one particular time with one era of people, the aim of the Sollus poject is now to recall the history of Archos, our world that we are still developing even now. Starting from the earliest days, we will be documenting the events that shape Archos over the millenia in a series of stories and accounts from characters who experience the events first hand. the rise and fall of species and civilisations; the wars, legends, romances - everything we can think of, basically.
the original idea for the Sollus project will still happen, but it is not now the sole aim of the project. it is simply another chapter in the history of the planet.

the world we have created is too complex though for its full majesty to be conveyed within the course of a few stories, and whilst eventually we may cover nearly every aspect, it may be useful to have a form of encyclopaedia or something of the sort, in which to look up facts about the various races, places, cultures etc. that will be encountered at some point. and so on the side a complete (hopefully) guide to Archos will be posted, eventually. obviously things will be changed and added over a long period of time as we discover more about the world for ourselves, but eventually it will be complete.

this is all i can really think of to say at the moment, but we hope that whoever reads this journal will be compelled to come back and check up on us once in a while, and will stick around until the fruits of our labours are finally (epically) uploaded.

btw any comments posted may be replied to using one of the above accounts, but it is still us, not just some random who has absolutely no idea what he/she is on about.

*Yu-gimoto is kind of like a middle ground between Jake and I (the creators) and anyone else who feels like joining. he's like a deputy creator or something along the lines, and also we've decided to lumber him with PR for when we can't be bothered (see why we need PR? lol i can't sustain it...)
given that he's joined in whilst we're still in Alpha stages, he'll be helping out with the remaining ideas that we haven't already finished off. anyone else joining in Alpha stages will join him as a deputy creator, but it's a hard post to get i'm afraid.

A NOTE ABOUT MEMBERSHIP

The Sollus project was originally intended to be a collaboration between myself (benmrules) and only. since then, has been added to the list. he is a close friend that both myself and Jake know in person, and also we feel that he will be able to make valued contributions to our project. that's not to say of course that no one else can, but please understand that this is something of a personal mission. this isn't a complete NO to requests to join and help out of course, but any requests made will be the subject of lengthy discussions between the creators, and it may be not many get accepted. not that your help isn't appreciated and valued, but as explained above, it's personal to us. we will however be actively looking for beta-readers for some of our work, and also any artists out there who feel they have enough spare time and talent to grace us with the help of their skills. artwork has been discussed frequently between Jake and I, and we both think it'd be great to get illustrated pictures of...well...anything involved in our world really. after some debate we are open to many different styles of art, but preferably keeping it fairly serious i.e. no sonic or chibi (is it chibi?) style art i'm afraid
any help we accept from anyone, be it writers, artists, beta-readers etc. will recieve all due credit, we assure you, and you'll be named an official part of our team if you so wish.
